About us

Hāwea Valley Nursery is co-owned / operated by two friends with a passion for enhancing the landscapes we live in.

Joel has been landscape gardening in the Upper Clutha for 20 years, as well as growing a sprawling native and food-producing garden in the demanding microclimate of Hāwea Flat.

Sam, a qualified arborist, moved to Wānaka from Bristol UK, 8 years ago, and strongly advocates for good tree management in the community.

Also on the team we have freelance nursery ninja's helping us to keep on an even keel. We are excited to have Nicola Woolford - a very talented garden designer - who has recently joined the team.
